I have a friend who once moved to Hawaii to escape the “harsh winters in Los Angeles, California” where he was living. And while that sounds like a great idea, not everyone has the luxury to up and move wherever and whenever they feel like it. And despite global warming, in many places around the world, it’s still darker and colder in the winter, making us more prone to certain illnesses than in the summer (if we aren’t tending to certain key things).
Overcoming February Blues
February can sometimes be a tough month, because the holiday parties and travels are over and we’re left to regular life again, and for some of us, that means a routine that we’re bored with and a good portion of the winter still ahead. It CAN often be pretty cold in many places and although there’s more light than there was in December and January, it sometimes FEELS like it’s been dark for AGES and the light never comes soon enough.
When February rolls around there’s usually another surge of illness popping up–and this year is no exception. So many of my friends and clients are coming to me to help them with colds, flus and viruses that I can’t fit them all into my schedule!
So I decided to share some suggestions for boosting your immune system naturally and gently and share a few tips that have kept me healthy for many a winter!
Boost your Immune System Throughout February
I’m starting with one of my all-time favorite cure-all healing tools: Calcium Bentonite Clay. Older than traditional Chinese medicine, there is evidence of it being used by kings and pharaohs in ancient Egypt. It’s one of the safest, cheapest and most powerful healing aids I know. It can be used to help heal a variety of maladies, including:
- Irritable bowels
- And even broken bones.
And one of my favorite benefits is its ability to make you look (and feel) younger!
Watch this video about some of the ways I use it as part of my daily practice and why.
